Kara’s experience is unique, as she has balanced blend of experience in public accounting and industry, including serving as the Director of Internal Audit and Director of Shared Services with a Fortune 200 Company, VP of Finance and Operations with a large privately-held advertising agency, and Controller for a large Not-for-Profit.  In industry, she successfully led several system implementations projects, restructured debt arrangements, redesigned and developed accounting, finance, and project management teams, and was heavily involved in acquisitions and divestitures. Her role in acquisitions and divestitures included negotiating the buy/sell agreements, performing valuations and the associated due diligence.  Kara intimately understands and thoroughly enjoys the challenges and opportunities that come with starting, growing, operating, and ultimately, transitioning a business.

Kara’s community and professional involvement includes former Board Member with Metropolitan Family Service in Portland, Oregon and she is on the Accounting and Auditing Project Committee with the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. When not working with her clients or the community, Kara spends her time with her husband and three boys. They love being in the mountains year-round, skiing in the winters and wakeboarding in the summers.
