Job Description/Profile

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant responsible for:

  • Managing the activities of the overall general accounting function.
  • Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements (multiple subsidiaries).
  • Work with tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, and financial reporting.
  • Report directly to Executive Leadership which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all accounting procedures, financial statement preparation, month-end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare supporting schedules to financial statements.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and transactions in conjunction with preparing financial reports.
  • Account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Manage collections process.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely. monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
  • Perform analysis of operations on a monthly basis; support budget and forecasting activities.
  • Support the owners with special projects and workflow process improvements while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting (preferred).
  • CPA certificate preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years experience in the accounting/finance sector (preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting, including application of general accounting theory, accounting principles, practices, standards, and laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional computer skills in the operation and of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel & NetSuite.
  • Exceptional skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
