We have offices in Medford, Oregon and  Boise, Idaho, with positions open in both locations.

SENIOR AUDIT ASSOCIATE

Positions available in Oregon & Idaho

Job Description/Profile

As a Senior Audit Associate you are expected to perform a variety of public accounting duties with above average knowledge of all areas of your particular practice area.  You are responsible for the delivery of services to multiple clients in a variety of industries as well as coaching, advising, and directing team members.  All Senior Assurance Associates gain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements. 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Post Baccalaureate, or Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited University. 
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience (or equivalent).
  • Actively pursuing CPA certificate. 
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software programs, with a particular focus on Word and Excel. 
  • Experience with CaseWare software preferred.

AUDIT MANAGER

Positions available in Oregon & Idaho

Job Description/Profile

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; 3.5 or higher GPA in major preferred; advanced degree preferred
  • Three to five years audit experience in public accounting
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles; knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book) and Generally Accepted Governmental Accounting Standards (GAGAS)
  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting software programs
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Holds a current and valid certified public accountant’s license
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Some travel may be required

SENIOR MANAGER: BUSINESS ADVISORY SERVICES

Positions available in Oregon & Idaho

LEAD PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT / CONTROLLER

Position available in Oregon

Job Description/Profile

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled Lead Accountant to be responsible for:

  • Managing all activities of the general accounting function for several multi-tenant property investments.
  • Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure consistency and appropriateness of accounting positions taken.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Working with tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including, general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end tax materials/support preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
  • Report directly to the owners and have contact with senior-level managers, and business partners, which requires strong interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal).

Responsibilities

  • Perform/supervise all accounting procedures, financial statement preparation, month end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance, debt roll forwards, and fixed assets and margin analysis.
  • Maintain appropriate and adequate support for all journal entries and judgments made.
  • Prepare supporting schedules to financial statements.
  • Perform general accounting procedures (A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, tax payments).
  • Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and transactions in conjunction with preparing financial management reports.
  • Account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and reporting to business owners.
  • Support the owners with special projects and workflow process improvements while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Serve as company liaison and assist in the compilation of information for the Company’s annual tax returns.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. The degree should be obtained from a well-recognized university.
  • C.P.A. is preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years experience in the accounting/finance sector (preferred).
  • 3+ years in a position equivalent to a Lead Accountant / Controller or higher responsibilities (preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting, including application of general accounting theory, accounting principles, practices, standards, and laws and regulations; in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional computer skills in the operation and of all programs used by the organization, i.e., QuickBooks, Property Manager, Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Experience with property management agencies (preferred).
  • Exceptional skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports.
  • Outstanding skills in organizing budgets, statements of finances, payroll and expenditures.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional work ethic.
  • Credibility, ethical, full disclosure and clean financial history.

Windi Martin, CPA - Partner & For Profit Practice Leader

Windi is looking for some additions to her team.

A little about Windi:  She is an accomplished executive with significant experience navigating complex accounting and financial reporting matters for public and private companies. Prior to joining KDP CPAs LLP in February 2021, Windi was a senior audit partner with Ernst & Young (EY), one of the largest professional services firms in the world.  Windi was EY’s  Assurance leader in the Oregon market where she built an extensive record of assembling and successfully leading engagement teams through demanding engagements with compressed timelines and advised clients on the accounting and reporting for a wide range of transactions, including IPOs, business combinations, asset acquisitions, debt and equity financings, restructurings, and emergence from bankruptcy

As the partner charged with leading KDP’s For Profit assurance practice in the Oregon and Idaho markets, Windi reliably oversees annual audits, reviews, compilations and attestation engagements for client.  Windi and her team’s serve clients  in the technology, retail and consumer products, health sciences, agriculture  and manufacturing sectors.  Additionally, Windi  collaborates with all of  KDP’s service lines, including tax and advisory, to ensure a seamless experience for clients.    

Windi’s other professional experience includes her role as the SEC Financial Reporting Manager with Homegrocer.com where she was a key member of a capital-raising team culminating with the March 2000 IPO. In this role, Windi served as a liaison among the public accountants, underwriters, legal counsel, and SEC staff accountants.

Windi was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and attended Central Washington University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Accounting.  She is a licensed CPA in the States of Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Windi is  member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Outside of the office, Windi enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her husband and two daughters at their cabin in Central Oregon where they hike, boat and snowmobile.  Additionally, Windi and her husband recently relocated to Boise and are enjoying exploring the Gem State.

Our For Profit Team works with clients to improve their overall financial reporting processes and to help them better understand their business. Members of this team enjoy working directly with clients, gaining experience and knowledge in a variety of industries. System and Organization Controls (SOC) reports are quickly becoming a necessity for building trust and for giving assurance to an organization’s customers (and prospective customers) about the services the organization provides. Windi's team also enjoys the challenges of SOC II preparation and verification. Our team enjoys our work, but has a very healthy respect for Work/Life Balance. Daniel Wardle, CPA

Daniel joined KDP as an Associate, and quickly moved into leadership roles–first as a Senior Associate, and then as a Tax Manager. At the time of this video (last summer), Daniel was still a Senior Associate. In the year since this video, Daniel has been promoted to Tax Manager.
