Help Desk Tech

Job Summary:

As a Help Desk Technician, you will report directly to the CIO and indirectly to Partners. As a member of the IT Team you will be primarily responsible for internal facing support providing primarily remote workstation and server support to staff across both the Medford and Boise office locations while also being available for onsite work in the Boise office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain, troubleshoot and support company IT resources.
  • Complete workstation setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software.
  • Train new employees on the use of workstations and other network equipment using providing training documents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, and software issues reported to the Service Desk.
  • Coordinate with authorized vendors for PC hardware repair.
  • Monitor systems for updates and security related patches
  • Maintain and/or coordinate PC hardware inventory to ensure our asset management is kept up to date.
  • Support firm Software and provide updates via scripted mass deployment of standard firm software.
  • Perform monthly audits to ensure compliance
  • Participate with firm wide projects, related to cloud deployments, security changes, or software upgrades / changes.
  • Utilize RMM, and other service-specific tools and technology to deliver remote and onsite user support services.
  • Work as an effective team member, know where your limits exist and when to escalate an issue.

General:

Develop and maintain relationships with staff which enhances the value perception of IT to the firm at large.

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows 10 in an Active Directory networked environment.
  • Knowledge of basic networking, subnets and VPN protocols.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems and core technology associated with them such as file and print sharing, NTFS Permission, DNS, DHCP and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, email and teams.
  • Security Software, AV, Anti-Virus etc.
  • Embrace continuous improvement and learning

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors, Post Baccalaureate, or Master’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited University.
  • 1 -2 years’ experience in IT support or similar IT technical role may be substituted for degree.
